Daniel Jones is no question excited on Thursday, as the New York Giants have gone out and signed veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph.

For New York Giants fans who grew increasingly frustrated with the up-and-down play of Evan Engram last season, some stability at the position is on the way. Indeed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has agreed to a new deal with veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph.

Earlier this offseason, Rudolph was released by the Minnesota Vikings after a long stay with the organization. Immediately, several teams showed interest in his services, but the Giants have come out on top in the end.

The Minnesota Vikings adding Kyle Rudolph is great news for signal-caller Daniel Jones

Engram ended up making the Pro Bowl last season, but NFL Twitter quickly questioned how in the world he made it. Giants supporters were left underwhelmed with his play time and time again, especially with some drops from Jones in key situations last season. While Engram has shown great potential at times, he’s also let the offense down on several occasions.

That won’t be the case with Rudolph. The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder has some of the best hands for a tight end you’ll see in the league. Rudolph spent 10 campaigns with the Vikings, posting 453 receptions for 4,488 yards and 48 touchdowns. Last season, Rudolph appeared in 12 games, catching 28 balls for 334 yards and one score.

Now, Rudolph will be making the move from the NFC North to the NFC East and hope to help the Giants get back to the postseason. After going 6-10 in 2020, New York is hoping for a bounce-back year, with the fans hoping some exciting football will finally make its way back to East Rutherford and MetLife Stadium.
