If the NFL approves of the 17-game schedule for the 2021 season, here are the extra games for every single team.

This week has been a big one for the NFL. The legal tampering period opened up on Monday with a flurry of moves that carried into the official opening of the 2021 league year on Wednesday. If you thought the NFL was going to be done on Thursday, you are wrong.

The NFL announced a massive 11-year broadcast deal with Amazon, CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC/ESPN where the NFL will earn $10 billion annually. With this lucrative contract signed, sealed and delivered, a 17-game season could be on the horizon for the 2021 season.

But what are the extra games that will be added to each team’s schedules? Here are the 16 presumptive games for this year, as well as the formula used to determine these matchups, courtesy of Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis.

NFL will decide on 17-game season at owners meeting later this month

These matchups are all pending approval at the next owners meetings, taking place on March 30. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the 17-game schedule will be approved.

There are some intriguing matchups in this list. For example, the Arizona Cardinals face off against the Cleveland Browns in a battle of two former Heisman-winning quarterbacks from Oklahoma in Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield. Perhaps the biggest game that will occur is the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Green Bay Packers. That is right, we get to see Aaron Rodgers face off against Patrick Mahomes in a battle between two NFL MVP’s. Get your popcorn ready for that epic matchup.

A 17-game campaign has gained momentum in recent years, but there was a brief pause due to the coronavirus pandemic that struck the globe this past year. But with a new television deal secured, the NFL will look to officially approve this motion later in the month.
