The Clippers have the stars in place. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are supposed to lead the team to a championship. But 2021 is here and the franchise has never advanced beyond the Conference Semifinals.

The team did just acquire Rajon Rondo before the trade deadline. But they should not stop there. Adding Drummond would give the team another post threat in addition to Serge Ibaka and Ivica Zubac.

Like with the Knicks, Drummond would show up in a different role than what he is used to playing. The offense would never run through him and his job would be to snag rebounds and feed the ball to the shooters. George and Leonard may walk off the court if Drummond were to pound the ball for 10 seconds and take a bad shot.

This move is all about stockpiling talent. There is no reason why the Clippers can’t at least make it to the Conference Finals and adding both Rondo and Drummond means there is never a lull in talent when the stars rest.
