As you might have been able to guess, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is fired up over the team agreeing to a one-year deal with defensive tackle Jarran Reed.

Out of nowhere, Brett Veach and the Kansas City Chiefs have pulled off a move that has fans celebrating in a big way on Sunday. That’s because the team has signed defensive tackle Jarran Reed to a new contract.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Reed is headed to Kansas City on a one-year deal worth up to $7 million. As soon as Patrick Mahomes learned of the Reed addition, he took to Twitter to let everyone know how fired up he is about the former Seahawk inking with the team.

Patrick Mahomes couldn’t be happier that Jarren Reed has signed with the Chiefs

As you can see from the tweet above, Mahomes really is all smiles about the Reed signing, using a classic The Rock gif to let us know how he feels. It’s hard to blame Mahomes for having this kind of a reaction.

Reed has been a stud for Seattle over the years. Last season, the 6-foot-3, 305-pounder posted 38 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Back in 2018, he really turned heads when he finished the year with 50 stops and 10.5 sacks.

The Seahawks released Reed earlier this week after he and the front office had a falling out. The drama arose after Seattle tried to restructure his contract. Things got so nasty between the two sides, and the marriage was beyond fixing in the blink of an eye.

This turned out to be incredible news for the Chiefs, who wasted no time in securing his signature. Now, Reed will line up next to Chris Jones in the trenches and Mahomes will be ready to watch his new teammate put on a show.
