With the 2021 season almost here, the pop in the Boston Red Sox lineup should have fans ready for the team to compete for a postseason spot.

After a horrendous 2020 season, the Boston Red Sox are entering the new campaign ready to remind their fans just how great they can be. Come on, this is one of the most historic teams in all of sports. The club will be ready to bounce back, especially with Alex Cora back as skipper.

With that said, can the team play ball in October and push for another deep postseason run? We think they can, with their star power in the lineup being the main reason why.

Up and down the lineup, this team is loaded with guys who can step in at any position and deliver a clutch hit. One player in particular who will have countless eyes on him as soon as the season starts is J.D. Martinez.

There’s no denying the slugger had a rough ’20, as he hit a career-worst .213 with seven homers and 27 RBI in 54 games. Those numbers simply won’t cut it for how good Martinez can be at the dish. The expectation is he’ll get back to his old mashing ways and bring back countless smiles for Boston supporters.

Elsewhere, how about the brilliance in spring training of AL Rookie of the Year contender Bobby Dalbec? Dalbec has been nothing short of sensational over the last month, leading the team with his seven homers and 16 RBI.

He got called up late last season and showed everyone his massive potential. Now, he’ll hope to get things going with a bang this spring. Again, last year was a nightmare for the Red Sox. We don’t expect that to be the case this year.
