The Georgia football schedule sets the Dawgs up nicely for a run to the SEC Championship Game, but there’s always a trap game looming large.

If Kirby Smart’s Georgia football team can win its two most important games, the Dawgs have a shot of getting back to Atlanta undefeated (twice).

After a relatively difficult 2020 SEC-only slate, the Dawgs should have a much easier time with their 2021 season schedule. Of course, Georgia has two incredibly tough games. The Dawgs open with a neutral-site affair vs. Clemson in Charlotte. And of course, we have the major SEC East rivalry game down in Jacksonville vs. Florida. But what other games should they watch out for?

Georgia football’s potential trap game for 2021 college season

At first glance, Georgia should go 10-2 at the very worst when looking at its 2021 schedule. These two losses would in theory be against Clemson and Florida in neutral-site affairs.

While the Dawgs could very well split the pair or win both, there are a few games of note to keep an eye on. Though home vs. Arkansas and at Auburn can be tricky, the Dawgs’ trap game is their home game vs. Mizzou.

What makes the Missouri game so potentially difficult is this. The Tigers are the one team coming to Athens this fall that may be better than the Dawgs think. This will be year two with Eliah Drinkwitz in charge in Columbia. He has his quarterback in Connor Bazelak. Even though Missouri does not recruit at Georgia’s level, there have been a few times where they have played up.

If Georgia beats Clemson and Florida, the Dawgs could be 8-0 on the year and extremely overconfident when a feisty Missouri team comes to town. Should Georgia be 6-2 with losses to Clemson and Florida, the Dawgs might be without motivation and could struggle to put away the Tigers.

In all likelihood, Mizzou will battle Kentucky for a third-place finish in the SEC East this year.

If the Dawgs are not careful, Missouri could totally ruin their season.
