Round 4

Baron Browning. 36. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. 129. player. Scouting Report. LB

The Seahawks continue to build up the defense in the draft, taking linebacker Baron Browning with their first pick of the third day. He has an awesome athletic ability and comes from a school with a winning background. The Buckeyes moved him around the defense during his time in Columbus, so there are some inconsistencies. However, that is going to be good news for the Seahawks because it will allow him to fall to them in the fourth round.

Browning will especially be an asset as a coverage linebacker. He can play all three linebacker positions, and that will make him an incredible special teams talent in his rookie season. Browning will make an impact on passing downs and will make tackles on punt and kickoff units. He will be someone who might be somewhat of a project when it comes to first and second down, but getting someone with the upside of Browning at 129 will be a huge win for the Seahawks.

He’s someone who is a solid tackler, can break up passes at will, can make the occasional rush on the quarterback, and he can make a play from the backside to stop a big play from getting even worse. This is a player that Pete Carroll and Ken Norton Jr. will fall in love with quickly.

The real threat here for the Seahawks is teams starting to warm up on Browning because he has been moving up some draft boards. However, there are many mock drafts that still have him available here, and the Seahawks would run to the stage to make this pick.
