Arch Manning could be committing to a college football team sooner rather than later.

2023 pro-style quarterback Arch Manning may have dropped a big hint over where he could be committing.

Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning. According to the 247Sports Composite, the Isidore Newman standout (New Orleans), is the No. 1 pro-style passer in his class, the No. 1 player from Louisiana and the No. 3 overall prospect in 2023.

While a commitment is not imminent, he dropped some clues about who are his unofficial leaders at this stage of his recruitment, via 247Sports.

“I’ve been talking with a bunch of coaches,” said Manning to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong. “coach (Steve) Sark(isian) at Texas, coach (Jake) Peetz and coach (Ed) O(rgeron) at LSU and I’ve gotten the opportunity to talk with coach (Nick) Saban too. Really all those guys are good at what they do and they’re great to talk to and it’s just been great to get the relationships and bonds already.”

“I just really love building a relationship. Really getting to know all of the coaches is important to me.”

Arch Manning could end up at Alabama, LSU or Texas

Even though Manning is a Tennessee Volunteers legacy through his Uncle Peyton and an Ole Miss Rebels legacy through pretty much the rest of his football family, it seems as though he has grown fond of Alabama, LSU and Texas. While LSU would make sense since it is the top program in his home state of Louisiana, the connections to Alabama and Texas are intriguing to say the least.

Because Alabama is the best program in the country, it is not that farfetched for a quarterback of Manning’s caliber to consider going to Tuscaloosa to play for Nick Saban. As for Texas, that is the strangest of them all. Why would a Manning leave the SEC to go play his college ball? This has everything to do with former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian running the show.

Since Manning has two more years of high school ball left to be played, it may be a little while longer before the rising junior makes his high-profile commitment. He clearly wants to enjoy the process. What has been interesting is how open-minded his family has been about this. While he may end up at Ole Miss or Tennessee, the Mannings are going to let Arch make his own decision.

For now, Alabama, LSU and Texas are emerging as early leaders for Manning’s 2023 commitment.
