Houston Astros superstar Carlos Correa revealed that he and the front office were miles apart during the contract negotiations.

What in the world are the Houston Astros thinking in regards to their contract talks with Carlos Correa? The superstar slugger is one of the best players in the game, yet Houston appears to be everything possible to basically pack his bags for him.

That’s how fans must feel after Correa revealed that the two sides were never close in their negotiations. In a recent interview with the Astros media, Correa sure made it sound like he’s a man already thinking about leaving town.

Carlos Correa is making it seem like he’s ready to leave Houston with his latest comments

With Correa saying, “I’m going to go out there and give it my best and try to bring another championship to this city,” it really does feel like he knows this could be his last campaign hearing Astros fans cheer him on.

Last week, surprising reports surfaced stating the Astros had offered Correa a six-year deal worth $120 million. While that kind of dough is a dream for any average Joe, $20 million a year for Correa’s services is nothing short of a joke, especially with the kind of monster contracts being given to MLB standouts these days.

As you might have been able to guess, Correa was offended by Houston’s initial offer and it’s easy to understand why. With the two sides not close on their numbers, it could open the door for a new team to slide in and sign him next offseason in free agency.

With Houston hoping to compete for another World Series this season, it could end up being Correa’s last time trying to get that job done at Minute Maid Park.
