The Houston Astros felt the wrath of Oakland Athletics fans on Opening Day Thursday.

Last year, the Houston Astros were the enemies of MLB after they were found guilty of electronically stealing signs during the 2017 season. Fans were prepared for the “Astros Hate Tour,” but the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to those plans. In 2021, the tour is officially back on.

On Thursday, the Astros happened to start off their season in Oakland to face the rival Athletics. Not only did they have to face the team, but the fanbase who did not forget about the scandal. In this video, fans booed the likes of Jose Altuve, Michael Brantley and Alex Bregman as they were introduced on Opening Day.

Oh, and there was also trashcan banging in homage to how the Astros relayed pitching signals to their batter.

Athletics: Oakland fans boo Houston Astros on Opening Day

The Astros did feel the wrath from fans last spring before the pandemic hit, and it returned this preseason. But it never happened in the regular-season until now.

Oakland fans are obviously miffed at the Astros for their role in the scandal, but there is also some hatred into how their season ended last season. Even though the Athletics won the AL West title, they were eliminated by the seventh-seeded Astros in the ALDS and watched their rivals pull within one win of reaching the World Series.

While the Athletics fans reaction was strong, many can not wait to see the reactions from New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers fans later this season.
