Kris Bryant went Ka-Boom for his first home run of the season at Wrigley Field.

Bryant could be on the trade block for the majority of this season, but he might’ve just boosted his value in a big way with a mammoth homer to center field. All jokes aside, the Cubs could very well end up keeping Bryant at least through the trade deadline if they can’t find a suitor beforehand, especially because they’d prefer to add to their depleted farm system in exchange for such a talented player.

Against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cubs got off to slow start to their season with a loss on Opening Day at Wrigley. They’re hoping to push the restart button on Saturday, and Bryant helped them get off to a good start.

Tyler Anderson should know better than to leave that baseball middle in.

Kris Bryant remains a vital force in the middle of the Cubs lineup

While his best days as a Cubs are likely behind him — we’re assuming no one expects him to reach 2016 NL MVP status again –Bryant remains one of the core four in the lineup along with Willson Contreras, Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez.

This Cubs team may not be as recognizable at this time next year, so let’s enjoy them while they’re here.
