Controversial MLB umpire Angel Hernandez is at it again with terrible calls, this time doing so in the showdown between the Houston Astros and LA Angels.

Over the years, perhaps no umpire in all of Major League Baseball has caused fans and players more headaches than Angel Hernandez. Between his blown calls and controversial comments, he really is a guy who doesn’t have many supporters out there.

On Tuesday in a showdown between the Angels and Astros, Hernandez was at it again. With Alex Bregman at the dish early on, multiple pitches were somehow called strikes. It understandably caused Bregman to grow frustrated, along with everyone else watching from home.

Angel Hernandez continues to prove he has no business calling balls and strikes

The question begs, how in the world does this guy still have a job? Even the biggest of Astros haters can’t argue with the fact that Hernandez was way off base here with this call. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only mishap of the day for him thus far.

In another at-bat, Hernandez completely blew it. In the video above, the pitch that was what, a mere six inches off the dirt was also called a strike? On which planet is this a strike and not a clear ball?

It’s almost as if Hernandez enjoys striking up our blood pressures with these completely ludicrous decisions. A quick search of his name on Twitter has countless fans blasting him left and right and rightfully so. While the 2021 campaign may have just gotten kicked off, Hernandez appears to be in midseason form. We mean that in the most negative way possible, though, as his blunders behind home plate need to stop as soon as possible.
