2021 NFL Draft: Here’s what a trade to No. 4 would be for Washington

Here’s how the Washington Football Team moves up to No. 4 in a deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

It will not be easy, but there are a few scenarios in which the Washington Football Team can trade up from No. 19 to No. 4 in a draft-day deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite a Jeff Fisher 7-9 B.S. record, Washington won the NFC East a season ago. Therefore, they are picking at a much worse spot in the 2021 NFL Draft order than where they probably should be. You know who doesn’t give one flip about that? The Falcons, and if Washington wants to move up 15 spots to get a franchise quarterback, it will cost them a pretty penny to do so and then some.

Here are two scenarios where it shakes out with the draft value chart. One involving a future first-round pick going Atlanta’s way and one where every pick changing hands will be made at the end of the month.

For Washington to move up 15 spots, it will cost them No. 19 overall and their 2022 first-round pick as the headliners.

Okay, this scenario is bonkers, but so is the Washington Football Team. You can totally see owner Daniel Snyder making this draft-day trade coming off his boat just to draft another Ohio State quarterback in Justin Fields. Only then will Ron Rivera know what Jay Gruden went through. Can you imagine Snyder went full-blown Mike Ditka and gave up his entire 2021 NFL Draft to move up.

Never go full-blown New Orleans Saints Mike Ditka. So do both parties strike a deal here or not?

Atlanta Falcons: Should they trade with the Washington Football Team?

Because the three teams picking ahead of them in the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers are all expected to go quarterback, Atlanta holds all the leverage here. It would be so beyond stupid for the Falcons to take potentially the fourth-best quarterback in this draft when there are sucker teams out there just waiting to give them almost all their draft picks.

Though Atlanta is in a great position to absolutely fleece Washington, the Falcons are better served to have quarterback-desperate teams picking ahead of Washington like the Denver Broncos at No. 9 or even the New England Patriots picking at No. 15 to bid against themselves for the right to get the No. 4 pick. Ultimately, Washington is paying the price for winning the NFC East.

Atlanta needs a lot of players, but Washington may not have enough good picks this year to do it.
