Alex Verdugo made a must-see catch to keep the win streak alive for the Boston Red Sox.

The Boston Red Sox are red hot right now. The team entered Wednesday riding a seven-game win streak with a doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins on the schedule.

The first game was a tight one and the Twins nearly pulled it out late. But Alex Verdugo was there to save the day and give the Red Sox an eighth-straight victory.

The Twins could have easily won the game if that ball got by Verdugo and rolled all the way to the wall. But the young outfielder trusted his abilities and made the game-saving play on a day when he also had two hits.

This gives the Red Sox eight consecutive victories after an ugly 0-3 start. Any early signs of panic have been wiped away as the team improved to 8-3 on the year and 5-0 on the road.

The team has a chance to make in nine straight in the second game of the doubleheader. That would end up being quite the great day for Red Sox fans after the New York Yankees fell in walk-off fashion against the Toronto Blue Jays.
