Giovanni Cabrera Mioletti has an unblemished record as a boxer and is now a promotional free agent looking for change outside the ring.

Giovanni Cabrera Mioletti is an undefeated boxer out of Chicago, and he’s looking to make his return to the ring in 2021. He has faced some adversity outside of the ring but is ready to get back in action.

Mioletti (18-0, 7 KOs) found boxing by accident. While at a friend’s house as a teenager back in 2009, Mioletti watched the Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto during a party. He fell in love with the action in the ring and the aura of Pacquiao, and the respect he commanded from those watching the fight.

“The admiration and respect that everyone had for Manny Pacquiao allured me to the sport so much,” Mioletti told FanSided. “I was drawn to it like a magnet.”

Just like that, Mioletti was off on his boxing odyssey. He found a boxing gym and began his training. By 2013, he was the Chicago Golden Gloves Champion. Looking for another challenge, he moved to Mexico for a year and competed as an amateur to further build up his résumé.

“So when I went back to Mexico, I became champion of Leon, which is the city where my father was born,” said Mioletti. “That’s where my family’s from. So I became the champion of Leon. I became the champion of Guanajuato, which is the state championship, the regional champion. Then in 2015, that was the year I won the bronze medal in the National Olympic tournament.”

Mioletti narrowly missed a bid at the Olympics but felt like boxing politics had something to do with exclusion from the Mexican Olympic team. Regardless, he proved his talent and improved his boxing skills in the process.

Giovanni Cabrera Mioletti is a promotional free agent and looking for a fresh start in 2021.

Mioletti returned to Chicago and began his professional career in 2016. From 2016-2019, Mioletti stayed busy. He fought no less than four fights during those years, primarily as a junior lightweight, but the pandemic halted his boxing career.

While waiting out the pandemic in 2020, Mioletti had some good news. He was signed to Banner Promotions in June. It appeared to be a blessing during the throws of a worldwide crisis, but the deal didn’t materialize Mioletti’s hopes.

Mioletti remained inactive despite his new deal with Banner. He was also drifting apart from his management team and knew that he needed to make a change but didn’t know where to start.

“So after I decided to split with my old management team, I was kind of fumbling in the dark, maybe like many boxers or entertainers, actors, anybody in the industry that’s trying to figure out for themselves,” said Mioletti. “It’s a pretty cutthroat game. And my father had looked up an article about Adrian Clark, and it was like this guy is kind of like the Robin Hood of boxing, who was giving knowledge and information to exactly what my situation required.”

Empowered and supported by former boxing manager Adrian Clark’s voice, Mioletti took control of his boxing business. Banner granted him a release from his contract and is now in the process of putting together a new training and management team while looking to partner with a new promoter.

“I’m a free agent,” declared Mioletti. “I just got my release from Banner Promotions. So at 18 and 0, with seven knockouts, you know, a free agent, it’s a good thing because one of the first things that my mentors taught me was don’t fight for nothing and don’t sign for nothing.”

Good junior lightweights are hard to come by, but at 26 years old and with a perfect record, Mioletti should be a hot commodity on the open market.
