Phil Foden’s goal in the 90th minute helped City recuse the victory in the first leg. For manager Pep Guardiola it is extremely important to advance to the semifinal. The Citizens have only advanced to the Champions League semifinal once, losing to Real Madrid in 2016. If City do not advance to at least the semifinal this season, it could cost Guardiola his job. The Citizens are among the biggest favorites to win the Champions League. Former Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is having one of the best seasons of his career. Gundogan has scored 16 goals this season and could end his former club’s Champions League dreams with another goal on Wednesday.
