Lincoln Riley would love for this five-star athlete to commit to his Oklahoma football team.

Though the Oklahoma football program, has done a great job in recruitment thus far in this cycle, Lincoln Riley better not let five-star athlete Gentry Williams leave his state by any means.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Williams is the No. 1 player from Oklahoma, the No. 5 athlete in his class and the No. 37 overall prospect for 2022. Williams could either be a quarterback or a defensive back at the Power 5 level. For that reason, he has the attention of these seven big-time schools: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and USC.

This is the type of player any of these Power 5 teams could be getting in Williams’ commitment.

Oklahoma football: Will the Sooners land Gentry Williams’ commitment?

Even though Oklahoma is doing very well in recruitment for 2022 with the No. 7 overall class and the best in Big 12 country, Riley cannot let the Tulsa native get out of state. He would be the second five-star to join the Sooners’ 2022 recruiting class, along with wide receiver Luther Burden. Williams has three visits lined up in June, including one to Norman on June 11. Will he commit?

Though he is visiting Florida on June 4 and USC on June 18, Oklahoma is the presumptive favorite to land him. All six 247Sports recruiting analysts who have made a prediction on Williams have him heading to Oklahoma, most of which feel pretty strong about that. The best thing going for Oklahoma is that he is not all that interested in playing for Texas, Texas A&M or Oklahoma State.

Eventually, it does feel like Williams will be taking his five-star talent to Norman.
