Alabama football: Bryce Young spring game performance gets hype train at full speed
By John Buhler
Bryce Young is showing off his rapport with Cameron Latu to Alabama football fans’ delight.
Alabama football fans have to love what they have seen out of quarterback Bryce Young and his growing rapport with tight end Cameron Latu this spring.
2021 will be Young’s first year as the Alabama starter, as last season’s Davey O’Brien winner Mac Jones has decided to turn pro. Young was a former five-star recruit coming out of high school, but had to bide his time behind the hot hand Jones during his true freshman season. As long as he is able to connect with Latu like this, the Alabama passing game will not be skipping a beat in 2021.
If this highlight-reel touchdown doesn’t get Alabama football fans fired up, what will, honestly?

Even though Alabama lost so much talent to the 2021 NFL Draft on the offensive side of the ball, no team is better equipped to reload than the Crimson Tide. While they also lost offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian to the Texas Longhorns head-coaching job, Alabama now employs a former NFL and Power 5 head coach in Bill O’Brien. Young is making it look so easy for him so far.
What other team could lose this much talent and be favored to win it all again? Though Alabama could be challenged in the SEC by teams like the Georgia Bulldogs or the Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama’s biggest competition is likely to be either the Clemson Tigers or the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2022 College Football Playoff. Young has all the talent to get the Crimson Tide there.
As long as Young and Latu are healthy, we should expect their connection to grow some more.
