3. Trade for Mitch Haniger

The White Sox saw firsthand how effective Mitch Haniger can be in their series this season. Chicago lost two of the three games while Haniger had three hits and two RBI. He’s having a strong 2021 coming off multiple injuries, suggesting his best is not entirely behind him.

The 30-year-old right fielder could come in and play left field while Eloy Jimenez is injured. Alternatively, he could work in right field as normal while Adam Eaton shifts over to the other side.

Trading for Haniger wouldn’t involve breaking the bank. It would mean getting a solid player with consistent output, one who is playing well right now. It would also mean giving Haniger a chance to show his stuff on a contending team for once.

Stability and reliability are exactly what the White Sox need as they look to shake off the malaise of their slow start to 2021.

The Mariners are in the middle of a rebuild, so there’d be an incentive to cash in on Haniger while they can. Chicago just has to make it worth their while.
