Patrick Mahomes still wants to get better this offseason as he works his way back from a foot injury.

Patrick Mahomes is already a legitimate superstar at the age of 25. Kansas City Chiefs fans have seen him make countless impossible throws and he even provided some highlights in what was an otherwise brutal Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in February.

Mahomes was playing hurt as he dealt with a nasty turf toe injury. That injury is now healing and the quarterback revealed, courtesy of The Athletic, there are still things in his game he wants to improve this offseason.

Mahomes only getting better is bad news for the rest of the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes wants to improve one thing in particular

The revelation from Mahomes is that he wants to improve his overall footwork. Getting back to work after spending time in a walking boot will allow him to slowly go through drills and focus on his footwork in particular.

So the great Mahomes can still get better. That is something fans must remember. 2020 was only his third full season in the NFL and 2018 was the only year in which he started all 16 games.

The young star has also dealt with injuries throughout his career. A fully healthy season where Mahomes improves different aspects of his game could mean he outdoes the legendary numbers he put up in his MVP year of 2018 when he threw 50 touchdowns.

Chiefs fans fell in love with Mahomes from the start and his total lack of an ego makes him such an easy player to like. He could easily come out and brag about how the Chiefs are still Super Bowl favorites because of him.

Instead, he is pointing out he himself can get even better. That right there is a personality trait for young athletes to emulate.
