As the Cleveland Browns prepare for the season, they could add a few more pieces to really content for a Super Bowl.

It might have taken 20 years for the sentence to be real but it’s here. The Cleveland Browns are not the laughing stock of the NFL anymore.

Take a minute to collect your thoughts.

Andrew Berry’s second season as the GM for Cleveland has proved profitable. After hitting on talent like Jedrick Wills and Donovan Peoples-Jones in the 2020 NFL Draft, he landed prime stars in free agency to fix the secondary. Names like Troy Hill might be undervalued, but John Johnson III could be the best move by any team come season’s end.

The plus of adding Jadeveon Clowney, who has shown to be an elite run-stopper, is just the icing on the cake.

As April nears, one could argue that Cleveland is the best team in the AFC North. So long as Baker Mayfield can prove to be the quarterback of the future, there’s fewer holes on the roster when looking at either side of the ball. However, that same argument could be made for the Baltimore Ravens.

April 29 will be so important for the Browns as they hope to enter Super Bowl contention talks. These three moves might be the ticket to get them there.

3 moves the Browns  should make in the NFL Draft

3. Add a Cornerback on Day 2

Hill is going to be a quality No. 2 option, but over 600 of his snaps for 2020 came in the slot. Cleveland must decide if they believe Greedy Williams will be a top-tier corner to pair along with Denzel Ward.

Williams is coming off a nerve damage injury, but was a highly-touted when selected out of LSU. There’s upside to his potential, but there has to be competition now to secure the out perimeter will be safe. Names like Georgia’s Eric Stokes or Syracuse’s Ifeatu Melifonwu are players who have in coverage when asked to play the boundary.

In a loaded cornerback class, Cleveland can wait to add a player in the secondary. Williams will be given one last shot, but the Browns should at least add a name to push him.
