Joe Burrow’s high school basketball highlights are sick and prove the Heisman winner, LSU national champion and Bengals top pick is ultra-gifted.

You know Joe Burrow was a baller on the gridiron after winning the Heisman and leading LSU to an undefeated season his final college season. Then, he was the No. 1 overall pick and on track to potentially win the Rookie of the Year before a knee injury prematurely ended his first season with the Bengals.

But did you know Burrow was also a walking bucket who could do it all on the basketball court too?

It’s true. Burrow was a star for Athens High School before he went to Ohio State to begin his college football career.

“He was just like he was as a football player,” Burrow’s high school basketball coach Jeff Skinner told FanSided. “He made it look easy. He had the uncanny gift that all he had to do was show up and the other kids followed him.”

Burrow averaged 19.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals per game in his senior season. For his career, Burrow averaged 17.1 points and 6.9 rebounds. Not too bad for a player in his second sport.

“He was a very, very tough basketball player. Burrow’s high school teammate in football and basketball, Adam Luehrman told FanSided. “He was our point guard, shooting guard, he was the best 3-point shooter on the team, he was always the strongest guy on the team. He averaged the most points in our senior year. He was just as competitive in basketball as he was in football.”

Joe Burrow’s high school basketball highlights are out of this world

If you don’t want to take the word of his coach and one of his teammates, just look at the tape and see Burrow draining one 3-pointer after another, posting dudes up and dropping dimes with such ease just as he did on the football field.

Burrow probably could have had a future as a college basketball player at a smaller program but he knew his future was with football. It’s why LSU fans are so thankful he ditched the jump shot for the back-shoulder throw and why Bengals fans are hoping he can be the savior the franchise has been looking for over the last few decades.

Just don’t challenge Burrow to any pickup games thinking he’s just some casual, because he’ll take you off the dribble and dunk or drain a 3-pointer in your face. Pick your poison. Joey B can do it all.
