Justin Jefferson didn’t hold back in a recent interview with GQ, saying he could not be happier that he’s suiting up for the Minnesota Vikings and not the Eagles.

At this point last year, it was looking like wide receiver Justin Jefferson was all set to head to the Philadelphia Eagles. Countless mock NFL Drafts had him pegged to be taken by Howie Roseman. Instead, the team ended up passing on him.

This opened the door for the Minnesota Vikings to grab him soon after. It’s been a match made in heaven, as Jefferson balled out during his rookie campaign with the team. In a recent interview with GQ, Jefferson also said he’s thrilled he’s not playing in Philadelphia, with the Eagles motivating him to play even better.

Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson will always be motivated when he faces the Eagles

“Leading up to the draft, you know, they had all of those mock drafts and people sharing their opinions on who is going to go where,” Jefferson told GQ’s Tyler R. Tynes. “A lot of people had me going to Philly. And, I thought I was going to Philly. Honestly.

“The funny part is, Philly was on the board and then Minnesota called me. At first, I thought it was Philly. But, I answered the phone and it was Minnesota. It’s crazy how all of that happened and everything. But, I’m definitely, definitely, definitely excited that I’m on the Vikings rather than Philly.”

Tell us how you really feel, Mr. Jefferson. The 6-1, 202-pounder had an unreal first year with the Vikings in 2020, as he hauled in 88 balls for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns. Come next season, he’ll look to be just as explosive for Kirk Cousins and Co. Eagles fans can only think about what would have been if they would have chosen him instead.
