Ryan Day responds to Justin Fields’ work ethic, health amid reveal of epilepsy diagnosis

Ryan Day sends out a supportive message of his former starting quarterback Justin Fields.
A lot has been made about Justin Fields’ supposed work ethic issues during the draft process, but his head coach Ryan Day does not want to hear any of that.
Day tweeted out a message supporting Fields on Wednesday after it became public knowledge that Fields has been managing epilepsy for years. While Fields has never had a seizure on the field and does take medication to keep his neurological disorder under control, it is interesting that news of his condition has come out during draft time. Day went to bat for his former quarterback.
Here is the message Day shared on Twitter regarding the former Heisman Trophy finalist.
Ohio State football: Ryan Day will always support Justin Fields, no matter what
Fields projects as a top-five pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. He is likely to go to one of four teams: The San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Falcons, the Denver Broncos or the New England Patriots. Without Fields’ leadership and determination, there would not have been a college season in the Big Ten. Fields and other players fought for their right to play this summer and fall.
Character concerns are not the issue with Fields; it is all about fit. If Fields were to go to a well-run organization and one that takes great pride in developing its quarterbacks, then he is going to have tremendous success in the NFL. Should he go to a franchise that doesn’t know what it’s doing, that could have lingering effects on his professional career. Hopefully, it’s not the latter.
Fields may be taking his talents to the NFL, but he will always be a Buckeye for what did in college.
