The Chicago Cubs are riding a four-game winning streak and life is good on the North Side of town.

After losing two of three at home last weekend vs. the Atlanta Braves, the Cubs have since swept the New York Mets in a three-game series and have taken the first game of their home series vs. the NL Central rival Milwaukee Brewers. Chicago has improved to 10-9 on the young MLB season. While there is plenty of work to be done, it seems that the Cubs have started to turn the corner.

Have the Chicago Cubs turned a corner?

While it is fantastic that Craig Kimbrel has been lights out on the mound with an 0.00 ERA and only one hit allowed, that is not sustainable. Frankly, neither is the scoring 38 runs during their four-game winning streak. What is sustainable is the confidence in which the Cubs are playing. There will be a regression to the mean for sure, but a confident Cubs team is a good one.

Ultimately, the Cubs have to seize the opportunity ahead of them in the NL Central. It is the most up-for-grabs division in the Senior Circuit. Seemingly every club outside of the rebuilding Pittsburgh Pirates has a legitimate shot to win a division crown this year. Maybe the Cubs have a shot at repeating in the NL Central after all? Good pitching and great hitting will certainly do that.

Regardless of if those metrics are sustainable, is it great to see the Cubs playing winning baseball.
