The Kansas City Chiefs can still win their draft depending who they take in day two this year.

With the Kansas City Chiefs trading for offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. in a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, they had to give up their No 31. overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Even though the Chiefs still have one of the best rosters in the NFL, Super Bowl 55 exposed their shortcomings along the offensive line. Kansas City prioritized upgrading that position group by signing Joe Thuney in free agency and trading for Brown. Now blessed with a pair of second-round picks at No. 58 from Baltimore and their own at No. 63, here is how the Chiefs crush their draft.

What players make the most sense for the Chiefs with their two second-round selections?

Ronnie Perkins could come in and augment a strong Kansas City pass rush

Because the Chiefs only have a few draft needs, the idea is that Kansas City will be able to address two of them with their two second-round picks. Kansas City needs a wide receiver, could probably use a cornerback, as well as some depth along the defensive line. One player who could make sense for them with either second-round pick is Oklahoma Sooners pass rusher Ronnie Perkins.

Perkins would be coming off the board around where the Chiefs could be picking. He is one of three high-quality pass rushers who are slated to go in the latter part of the second round, along with Carlos Basham Jr. of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Payton Turner of the Houston Cougars. Joe Tyron of the Washington Huskies slipping to the Chiefs at No. 58 is a pipe dream.

In Perkins, the Chiefs would be getting a guy who played at a Power 5 blue-blood in Oklahoma. While he may have starred on an offensive-minded team, Oklahoma played with a lot of leads in the Big 12, so his pass-rushing ability could translate marvelously into what the Chiefs are trying to do to get back to the Super Bowl for the third year in a row. He could be in play here at No. 58.
