1. K.J. Wright will return for 10+ games

Wright wasn’t the dominant defender he was during his prime for the Seahawks in 2020. He was still a quality contributor for their defense. The fact that he’s still available in free agency raises the distinct possibility that he can make a surprising return to Seattle.

The moment the Seahawks suffer any sort of injury at linebacker it’s clear their first call will be to Wright. The fact that he’s still unemployed means he can’t afford to be overly picky about the salary he gets from his old team. A reunion between the two parties just makes too much sense not to happen.

In some ways, Wright and the Seahawks can both benefit if the reunion doesn’t happen until sometime approaching the middle of the regular season. He doesn’t need a ton of practice time to get up and running. Missing a healthy portion of games could help Wright play his best football in the postseason.

The prediction here is that Wright will return in time to log double-digit games for his old team. His return could be just the boost Seattle’s defense needs to make a lengthy playoff run. Seahawks fans shouldn’t pack away their Wright jerseys just yet.
