Oklahoma football suspended two players in April. The reason has been revealed as police investigate an alleged armed robbery.

Oklahoma football players Trejan Bridges and Seth McGowan face some serious allegations relating to an alleged armed robbery.

Bridges, a wide receiver, and McGowan, a running back, were suspended by the Sooners earlier this month, but no reasons were given to explain why.

A report from Nolan Clay of the Oklahoman cleared up any of the mystery on Friday.

The two players are suspects in an incident that occurred on April 15. A 911 caller claimed he was robbed of marijuana at gunpoint in his apartment. He identified Bridges, McGowan and another man as the perpetrators.

“The victim said Bridges pointed a handgun at him and threatened to kill him during the robbery, a police detective told a judge in requests to do the searches. The victim also said he was beaten,” Clay reported.

Bridges and McGowan are innocent until proven guilty. Neither has been charged with a crime. However, the police reportedly found a .45-caliber Glock handgun and “a bag of green substance appearing to be marijuana” in a search of Bridges’ apartment.

This isn’t the first time Bridges has been in trouble at Oklahoma. He was suspended for the 2019 Peach Bowl because of a positive marijuana test.

The junior has nine career catches with 101 yards and two touchdowns. He played just one game in the 2020 season.

McGowan has already entered the transfer portal. He had 370 yards and three touchdowns on 58 rushing attempts while adding 201 yards and a touchdown as a receiver during his freshman season.
