LaMelo Ball does iconic Michael Jordan impression, switching hands mid-air on beautiful layup
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball did his best Michael Jordan impression by switching hands in mid-air on a ridiculous layup against the Miami Heat.
LaMelo Ball was touted as the next great basketball star when he was in high school.
He’s living up to all the hype in his first year in the NBA.
The Hornets guard pulled a move reminiscent of Michael Jordan against the Heat on Sunday, just to prove it.
Ball has only been back for the Hornets for two games and he’s already reminding people why he is a Rookie of the Year frontrunner, despite missing 20 games with a fractured wrist.
LaMelo Ball’s early return boosts the Hornets playoff hopes
When he first suffered the injury, it was expected to keep him out for the rest of the season. That was a huge disappointment for Charlotte and the league in general. Having one of the brightest young players off the court is never a good thing.
However, his rehab went well enough for him to return on Saturday for a game against the Pistons. He contributed 11 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, a steal and two blocks in a victory.
Sunday night’s game didn’t pan out so well for the Hornets, even with Ball making that kind of play. He had 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block but committed five turnovers for the second time in two games. Charlotte lost 121-111
There are eight games left to play as the Hornets sit eighth in the Eastern Conference. They look well on their way to participate in the new NBA Play-In Tournament. Charlotte can hope to make it through that test with Ball on the court, especially with a couple of weeks of game time to shake off the rust.
