New York Yankees fans wanted to make sure that Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa knew he was a dirty rotten cheater when he was taking batting practice ahead of their series opener on Tuesday night in The Bronx.

This is the lone trip to Yankee Stadium this year for baseball’s most hated team. The Astros have yet to play in The Bronx since the 2017 sign-stealing scandal gave the MLB a black eye shortly before COVID-19. The Yankees were one of the teams most negatively impacted by the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal four seasons ago. Yankees fans are going to be in rare form during this series.

Get ready for the most amount of boos you could ever hope to hear over one baseball series.

Even if his Houston teammate Myles Straw has fully embraced being baseball’s heel, Correa and the rest of the Astros must continue to find a way to don the black hat with sinister pleasure. Dignity, self-respect and class are far gone at this point. Not until every team that played the 2017 Astros gets to boo the team relentlessly during a homestand will enough justice have been served.

Houston enters play on Tuesday night at 15-13, which is only a game better than the .500 Yankees at 14-14. These were two of the teams most likely to win the AL pennant at the start of the year. While we are only in the first week of May, we have not seen anything out of the Astros or the Yankees just yet that will signify they have what it takes to win the World Series in October.

All the while, expect Astros players like Correa to get booed the entire time they are in New York.
