Chicago White Sox stud Dylan Cease is in the middle of a breakout season for the club and he said meditation has really helped him improve his game and mental health.

Has anyone turned heads more this season in the American League than Chicago White Sox hurler Dylan Cease? The 25-year-old starter is in the middle of a breakout year for the White Sox, as he’s 2-0 on the campaign with a 2.37 ERA.

So, what has helped the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder to have this kind of early success? Well, Cease has come out and said in an interview with Infield Chatter that meditation has truly been a game-changer for him.

Dylan Cease meditates every morning to help him be at his best for the White Sox

Cease revealed that his interest in meditation grew when he was in the minor leagues and things have only increased since then. Now, he meditates and goes through different breathing exercises for at least 20 minutes to get himself mentally ready to attack the day. The results sure are paying off for him on the bump.

“I want to see how I function,” Cease told Infield Chatter. “I want to see how my mind functions and I want to see how my body functions. I kind of want to be the observer of everything and not necessarily get entangled in it.”

With Cease pitching at a high level, and also going 3-for-3 in his season debut at the plate this week, White Sox manager Tony La Russa must love how meditation is helping his stud hurler compete whenever his number is called. Cease continues to win over fans in Chicago and he very well might have motivated countless folks out there to give meditation a shot as well.
