These three former Michigan football standouts are in need of a new NFL team for 2021.

The Michigan football program usually does a great job of producing NFL talent. However, these three former Wolverines stars remain unsigned this deep into 2021 NFL free agency.

While the Michigan program has not gotten back to Lloyd Carr status under head coach Jim Harbaugh, he has brought some respectability back to the football team. Though he cannot beat arch rival Ohio State for the life of him, one top player after another ends up getting drafted after playing under him. Look for one of these three former Michigan players to maybe be signed soon.

Here are three former Michigan football stars who are in need of a new NFL contract for 2021.

Michigan football: 3 former Wolverines still needing an NFL team to play for

Baltimore Ravens. Jake Ryan. player. Scouting Report. LB. 3. 26. Pick Analysis

Maybe linebacker Jake Ryan has one more NFL season left in the tank?

While Jake Ryan has not played in a regular season game since he was a member of the 2019 Jacksonville Jaguars, he could be finding his fourth NFL organization this offseason. He spent 2020 on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, but the former Michigan linebacker is best known for his four years after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2015. Maybe he has one season left?

TE. Denver Broncos. 2. player. Pick Analysis. 45. Jake Butt. Scouting Report

Maybe a change of scenery will do wonders for tight end Jake Butt?

America’s favorite tight end Jake Butt has played a total of eight games over four seasons with the Denver Broncos. He has had so many injuries that he might just call it a career. However, if he wants to keep playing, he may want to look somewhere else. Maybe he can link up with his former college coach’s older brother’s team in Baltimore? Then again, Butt may hang up the spikes.

Miami Dolphins. Jake Rudock. player. Scouting Report. QB. 1. 59. Pick Analysis

Jake Rudock plays the right position to have staying power in the NFL

It sounds nuts, but Jake Rudock is easily the best quarterback to play for the Michigan program since Harbaugh arrived in 2015. The former Iowa signal-caller played so well that he was a sixth-round pick by the in-state Detroit Lions in 2016. While he has mostly held a clipboard, most recently with the Miami Dolphins, Rudock can have a long career in the NFL as a trusted backup.

To be completely honest, the cupboard is incredibly bare when it comes to former Michigan stars who are in need of NFL teams. Most of the former Wolverines standouts of note have either found their spot in the league or have called it a career. While Butt and Ryan may end up going in that direction, Rudock is just getting started in his journeyman career as a solid backup quarterback.

Will any of these former Michigan football stars end up finding an NFL team to play on in 2021?
