University of Kentucky coach Jovon Bouknight was reportedly arrested in Kenton County.

A University of Kentucky coach was arrested by Erlanger Police Department early Saturday morning on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Wildcats wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested on those charges as well as charges that he was speeding while in possession of an open alcohol container.

Bouknight is set to appear in court on May 14th.

The Courier-Journal provided further details on the arrest:

"Bouknight was booked in the Kenton County jail at 3:56 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, alcohol, etc.; possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle and speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, according to the Kenton County Jail website."

Bouknight is set to begin his season with the Wildcats as an assistant coach. He came over from Oregon after the 2019 season and carries with him a legendary career at Wyoming as one of the school’s best receivers.

He’s bounced around in the last few years, but Bouknight has spent time with some of the biggest programs in the country. Before his time at Oregon, he was at Texas Tech with Kliff Kingsbury.

According to the Courier-Journal, the university is aware of the situation and will comment on the matter once it has more information.
