DK Metcalf’s 100-meter sprint was nuts despite last place finish (Video)

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf may have finished in last place of his 100-meter run, but he posted an unreal time. 

On Sunday, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf took the track for his highly-anticipated 100-meter race. Checking in at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, the fact that Metcalf was even going up against some of the fastest sprinters in the world was impressive on its own.

In the race, Metcalf ended up finishing in last place. Despite that, he finished the 100 meters at 10.36 seconds. While he didn’t when and indeed got ninth, this is one heck of an accomplishment for the superstar wideout.

As you can see in the video above, Metcalf was absolutely motoring down the track. For a man of his massive size to fly like that really is impressive to see. For anyone doubting him ahead of Sunday’s race too, he probably shut them up with that performance.

While he won’t be headed to the Olympics, he can certainly be proud of how he performed. Who cares if he finished last? A 10.36 is not something many folks can say. Now, Metcalf can get back to focusing on preparing himself for the 2021 campaign with Seattle.

Last season, the former Ole Miss standout earned Pro Bowl honors after hauling in 83 balls for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns, all career highs. He has become quite the weapon for Seahawks’ signal-caller Russell Wilson, with his blazing speed being showcased whenever he’s on the gridiron.

With Seattle’s offseason drama with Wilson behind them, they’ll look to once again make major noise in the NFC West. Metcalf will have goals of helping the team get back to the Super Bowl. And hey, don’t be surprised if he competes in another 100-meter race down the road. He showcased on Sunday that’s he up to the task.
