Thanks to Carlos Correa’s home run against the Blue Jays, Houston Astros fans can get a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A.

Astros fans didn’t just get a victory over the Blue Jays on Friday. They got free Chick-fil-A out of it.

The chicken specialists are giving away sandwiches on the Chick-fil-A app because Carlos Correa hit a home run off the left-field foul pole.

Two runs and a sandwich is quite the return for that one.

The homer gave Houston a 2-1 lead in response to a first-inning home run for the Blue Jays. The Astros went on to a runaway victory, 10-4.

Free sandwiches can make Carlos Correa feel better about his slump

Of all the batters you’d expect to deliver that particular prize, Correa wouldn’t be the one you’d predict at this point. The shortstop is in a slump, batting .037/.071/.148 in seven games this May.

That home run was his first and only hit of the month so far. It was a beauty, at least.

While the Astros might have hoped Friday’s output would break him out of it, Correa went 0-for-4 on Saturday as Hoston lost 8-4. Dusty Baker gave him the day off on Sunday as a planned rest.

Correa performed well in the first month of the season. He hit four home runs, had 12 RBI and batted .303/.3522/.495 in April. He needs to regain that form.

The Astros will begin a series at home against the Angels on Monday. They took two of three games against Toronto to recover from a 1-2 series in New York against the Yankees.

The AL West is still tight in the middle, but the A’s have pulled ahead at the top of the division. Houston sits second, two games behind Oakland and half-game ahead of Seattle.
