Hawaii football legend Colt Brennan passes away at 37

Former Hawaii football star quarterback Colt Brennan passed away at 37-years-old.
The Hawaii football family mourns after the passing of former star quarterback Colt Brennan.
According to Hawaii News Now, Brennan passed away at the age of 37. No other details have been released about Brennan’s passing at this time.
Brennan played his high school football at California powerhouse Mater Dei. Brennan began his college career as a walk-on at Colorado before he was dismissed from the team for after he was convicted on charges of felony burglary and trespassing.
Colt Brennan was a Heisman finalist in 2007
After playing at Saddleback College, Brennan transferred to Hawaii where he lead the nation with 58 touchdown passes in 2006 playing for June Jones. He finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting that year with Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith winning college football’s highest honor.
Brennan famously was the starting quarterback when Hawaii went to the 2008 Sugar Bowl to face the Georgia Bulldogs. He finished third in Heisman Trophy voting that season behind only Florida’s Tim Tebow and Arkansas’ Darren McFadden. Brennan was a sixth-round pick by Washington in the 2008 NFL Draft.
He is fourth all-time in career touchdown passes with 131.
