Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette tried to get cute against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday and Ronald Acuña Jr. surely made him pay for it.

In addition to being a superstar at the dish, don’t forget for a second that Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has a complete and total rocket for an arm. Unfortunately for Bo Bichette, he learned this the hard way.

In a showdown between Atlanta and Toronto on Wednesday night, Bichette lined a single to right and a mistake by Acuña appeared to open the door for Bichette to race for second. Instead, Acuña showcased his cannon and made Bichette pay for it.

Ronald Acuña Jr. let Bo Bichette know testing his arm is a major mistake

As you can see in the video above, Bichette tried to get cute and then ended up stumbling over himself. Acuña saw the opening and then fired over a laser to first base to toss Bichette out. Just like that, the Blue Jays star went from potentially getting himself in scoring position, to jogging back to the dugout with his tail between his legs.

That’s the kind of impact Acuña Jr. has. Just when you think you’re going to be able to pull a fast one on him, he makes you look foolish. Bichette will surely keep this in mind the next time he wants to make something happen.
