1 . Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. AFC East . . New England Patriots . player. 47

There’s so much to break down between these two teams outside of the fact that they just happen to be in the same division. With Brady gone, it looks like it could be the end of an era in Foxborough.

Instead, Bill Belichick spent money this offseason and upgraded long-term at quarterback with Tagovailoa’s replacement in Tuscaloosa. Now, 2021 will be the Crimson Tide battle under center in the NFL should Mac Jones be the starter when these two meet.

Not only did Jones produce better numbers in 2020 then Tagovailoa did in his final season with Alabama, he also won a national title and what a perfect 13-0. He’s a perfect fit for what Josh McDaniels and Belichick loved to run with Brady for the past 20 seasons. And if the new weapons that were added can help Jones flourish, New England could be back in the conversation as the No. 2 team in the division.

Even with the success of the draft, it still feels like the AFC East is Buffalo’s to lose. That doesn’t mean the division will only have one representative in the postseason picture. Jones and Tagovailoa have been good friends due to their time in T-Town.

Now, they each must prove they are the franchise guy for the respective teams before the season’s end.
