The Kansas City Chiefs will begin their revenge tour in 2021 at home in perfect fashion.

To say the last season was a bitter pill for Chiefs Kingdom to swallow is an early contender for understatement of the decade.

With the best quarterback in the universe under center, surrounded by one of the best offenses we’ve ever seen, and coupled with a truncated offseason that truly separated the prepared from the listless, everything indicated the Chiefs would repeat as Super Bowl champs.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had other plans.

It’s not just that the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl, it was the total ass kicking they received that proved the true shock value. Kansas City didn’t just lose, it got absolutely embarrassed on the biggest stage in North American sports.

Kansas City was already a monolith in the NFL, and the last thing anyone else in the AFC wanted was a chip on its shoulder.

The Chiefs are dragging a sledgehammer into the 2021 season and they now have the first victim on their list.

NFL News: Kansas City Chiefs Week 1 schedule leaks

The NFL schedule began to be revealed on Wednesday morning, and we learned the Chiefs will open their revenge tour at home against the Cleveland Browns.

Beating Brady and the Bucs would be the most cathartic revenge Chiefs fans could hope for, but starting the season by boxing the ears of the Browns isn’t a bad appetizer. Before the Super Bowl upset, the Browns came within striking distance in the AFC Divisional Round and almost took the Chiefs out at Arrowhead.

Beyond reminding the Browns of their place in the AFC hierarchy the Chiefs likely haven’t forgotten how Patrick Mahomes was taken out of that game on a hit that fans deemed a cheap shot.

Mack Wilson wasn’t fined for the hit and the Chiefs eventually won the game, but it was a loop that likely hasn’t been closed — yet.

The Chiefs have more motivation than ever to destroy anyone that stands in their way, and the Browns unfortunately drew the short straw in Week 1.
