The Seattle Seahawks need to win these five games if they want to remain division champions.

While the Seattle Seahawks should be in the mix to win the NFC West again in 2021, they are not the favorites to do so this upcoming season.

Seattle plays in the toughest division in the NFC, and arguably in the entire NFL. Conceivably, all four NFC West teams could make the NFL Playoffs this year with one division winner and three Wild Card teams. While having Russell Wilson at quarterback and Pete Carroll at head coach nearly guarantees Seattle of a playoff berth, the Seahawks need to win these five tough games in 2021.

Here are the five games on the Seahawks’ schedule they need to win to repeat in the NFC West.

Seattle Seahawks: 5 must-win games for 2021 NFL season

5. New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks

This game between the Seahawks and the visiting New Orleans Saints is all about having the upper hand should it come to any potential tiebreiking scenario for Wild Card or other playoff positioning. With Drew Brees retiring, the Saints will start either Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill at quarterback. Seattle should be favored in this game and must beat a regressing NFC South team.

4. Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals

You could argue splitting the season series with a division rival like the Arizona Cardinals would suffice, but for Seattle to win the division again, they need to knock teams on the rise down a peg. Seattle is not winning the NFC West if they get swept by the Cardinals, but a strong season sweep of Arizona would go a long way towards getting the Seahawks in the 12-win range this year.

Here are the three most important games on the Seahawks’ 2021 season schedule.
