Kris Bryant left some candy in left field for former Cubs teammate Kyle Schwarber.

It was a big day at Wrigley Field on Monday with the return of Jon Lester and Kyle Schwarber in their first game as members of the Washington Nationals.

For the first time since leaving the Chicago Cubs as free agents this offseason, World Series heroes Jon Lester and Kyle Schwarber returned to the Friendly Confines.

The Cubs got the win and handed Lester the loss who got a rousing ovation from fans in the stands and his former teammates in the opposing dugout. Schwarber hit a home run in his return but that wasn’t the best part of his Wrigley return.

Kris Bryant must have the best candy at Halloween

Clearly, the best part of his return to his old home park was the gift Kris Bryant left for him in left field.

Bryant left a few candy bars for Schwarber when he returned to the outfield, which just goes to show you how nice of a person the 2016 N.L. MVP truly is. How many people would leave a smattering of candy for the opposition in the middle of a game?

The answer is zero.

It’s unclear to tell from the video what types of candy that Bryant left for his former teammate, but let’s hope it was some combination of Snickers, Butterfinger, Heath and maybe even a Twix or KitKat bar. The gold standard when it comes to Halloween candy.

Since Schwarber lost a bunch of weight in the last few years, it’s probably not a staple in his diet anymore but the new Nationals outfielder earned a cheat day.
