Kemba Walker is donning a controversial jacket ahead of the Celtics play-in game and the team is getting called out for it left and right.

The Boston Celtics are all set to host the Washington Wizards in a postseason play-in game on Tuesday night, with the squad all set to try and leave TD Garden with a big win. Unfortunately for them, they’ve already recorded a massive loss ahead of the opening tip.

Before the first whistle, the team took to social media to showcase veteran guard Kemba Walker locked in mentally to try and defeat Washington. However, Walker is sporting a controversial jacket, which the team decided to post on its Twitter page. It was eventually deleted but not before Twitter got their screenshots.

Kemba Walker sporting a Gadsden flag is a terrible look for the entire organization

As you can see in the tweet above, Walker is sporting a Gadsden flag on his jacket, which we don’t have to tell you is a terrible look. For those of you who don’t know its meaning, a Gadsden flag is typically worn and supported by right wing groups, which was on display at the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.

The assumption here is that Walker doesn’t know it’s meaning, but for Boston to not only post it on social media, but not do some research on it first is a major, major issue. As you might have been able to guess, the team is getting ripped to shreds in the replies of its original tweet, which somehow hasn’t been deleted.

Boston is hoping to go on a deep postseason run and remind folks why the organization is so historic. Instead, all of the pre-game focus right now is on Walker’s jacket and what it represents. Tough look for the Celtics, no doubt about that.
