It was an ugly scene during the Mets and Braves game on Monday night when Kevin Pillar took a fastball to the face and was left bloodied.

Kevin Pillar suffered nasal fractures after getting hit in the face by a Jacob Webb fastball during the Mets game vs. the Braves on Monday night.

It was a harrowing sight when Pillar was struck square in the face by the 94 MPH fastball and blood began pouring out of his nose. Somehow, Pillar was able to walk it off and head to the dugout.

After the game, Pillar tweeted it was a scary moment, thanked everyone for their well-wishes and said he was doing fine.

Kevin Pillar said he was fine after getting hit in the face but he suffered nasal fractures

If we could all be doing “fine” after suffering facial fractures.

Thankfully, for Pillar, the damage could have been much, much worse, so taking that into consideration, it’s a blessing the pitch didn’t cause any more damage than some nasal fractures.

It’s unclear how much time Pillar will miss due to the injury but a stint on the injured list could be in his future.

If you didn’t catch the game or see the pitch that struck Pillar in the nose and want to see it, you can see the video below, but be warned, it is graphic and anyone with a weak stomach when seeing blood will want to avoid the clip.

It could have been so much worse but thankfully Pillar avoided anything worse than nasal fractures.
