Tyson Fury crashed ESPN’s boxing commentating crew and announced that he signed the contract to fight Deontay Wilder. The fight is proposed for July 24.

Shortly before the Jose Zepeda vs. Hank Lundy fight on the Josh Taylor vs. Jose Ramirez undercard, Tyson Fury crashed the ESPN commentators’ set and made a big announcement.

Fury was handed the mic and yelled, “I signed the Deontay Wilder contract, b**ch!” Joe Tessitore looked shocked that Fury dropped the B-word, but much worse has been said on live television.

Fury scattered away, but his initial visit whetted appetites for more details on his trilogy boxing bout with Wilder.

Fury returned following Zepeda vs. Lundy and listened to Tessitore give a rundown of the last few days. He added details that they would fight at the big, big stadium, alluding to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

On May 22 on ESPN, Tyson Fury announced he signed on for a trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder tentatively set for July 24

Fury revealed that he never thought about offering Wilder step-aside money and called Wilder an “idiot” in the process. He also railed against Wilder for all of his excuses following his TKO loss to Fury in 2020.

ESPN ran a graphic stating that Fury vs. Wilder 3 is tentatively set for July 24. Fury’s announcement is about as official as an unofficial announcement could be. Things could still change, but it certainly looks like this fight is set.

Originally, Fury claimed he would fight majority heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua, on Aug. 14 in Saudi Arabia, but just one day later, an arbitrator ruled that Fury had to fight Wilder in a trilogy bout by sept. 15.

Wilder reportedly signed on for the fight on May 21, and now Fury is officially on board. Stay tuned for an official announcement from Top Rank and PBC soon, but Fury’s words come close to solidifying Fury vs. Wilder 3 for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 24.
