Joel Embiid celebrated his and-1 hilariously in front of the Philadelphia 76ers home crowd.

En route to the Philadelphia 76ers taking a commanding 2-0 lead over the Washington Wizards, center Joel Embiid had an incredible celebration after an impressive and-1.

Embiid was able to get around Davis Bertans in the lane before drawing contact on Robin Lopez on his layup attempt. The basket counted and it was one backside pelvic thrust after another from the 76ers star while he was sprawled out on Wells Fargo Center hardwood. It may not have been appropriate for the kids at home, but we do appreciate a star pushing the envelope with his hips.

If you want to claim Embiid was “working on his core”, you can go right ahead with that notion.

Joel Embiid gave the Philadelphia 76ers crowd the crowd-pleaser it demanded

After “The Process” era and the never-ending saga of square-peg-in-a-round-hole with Brett Brown at the helm, this is the best we have seen the 76ers play ball since Allen Iverson was in his prime. Unlike that 2001 team, it is not just one superstar and a supporting cast. Embiid has other elite players like Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris he can lean on. Maybe this group can win it all?

Adding Doc Rivers as head coach has been a godsend for this team’s overall personality makeup. Philadelphia has the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for a reason. The 76ers will knock the Wizards out of the first round in four or five games, likely advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals over the winner of the Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks series. It is so good to be Philly.

If Embiid can keep on playing like this, the Philadelphia 76ers can win their first NBA championship since 1983.
