Bucks Twitter account fires shots at Heat after first-round sweep

The Milwaukee Bucks’ Twitter account kicked the Miami Heat while they were down following their first-round sweep on Saturday.

The Milwaukee Bucks were viewed as one of the overwhelming favorites to win the NBA championship last year inside the Orlando bubble. Instead, the team was eliminated in the Eastern Conference semifinals by the Miami Heat in five quick games. Less than a year later, the Bucks got their revenge.

On Saturday, Milwaukee defeated the Heat 120-103 to secure the first-round sweep and advance to the second-round to face the winner of the Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics series. The Bucks’ official Twitter account decided to send one more parting shot to the Heat, reminding them that this was not the bubble anymore.

Bucks take one last shot at the Heat following 120-103 win on Saturday

After watching Game 1, it appeared as though this series was going to be tightly-contested, with the potential of going all the way down to Game 7. That narrative disintegrated in Game 2, when Milwaukee dropped 46 points and hit 10 three-pointers in the first quarter against the Heat. From there, it felt like a foregone conclusion that Milwaukee was advancing to the next round.

The Heat actually put up a good fight in Game 4 as they held a 64-57 lead entering halftime. Miami’s production dropped off in the second half, as they only scored 39 points. Jimmy Butler did notch a triple-double with 12 points (4-for-15 from field), 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but he posted a plus/minus of minus-18.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, like Butler, secured a triple-double with 20 points (on 8-of-18 shooting from the field), 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Center Brook Lopez led the team with 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field).

The Heat made life miserable for the Bucks during last year’s playoffs. Now, they got their long-awaited revenge as they look to make a run to the NBA Finals.
