Kohl Stewart was a higher rated college football quarterback prospect than Mitchell Trubisky.

Had he decided not to sign with the Minnesota Twins out of high school, Kohl Stewart might have had a better college football career, or NFL career for that matter, over Mitchell Trubisky.

Stewart now pitches for the Chicago Cubs in the same city where Trubisky used to make Chicago Bears fans miserable. Now backing up Josh Allen on the Buffalo Bills, starts will be especially hard to come by for the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. While Trubisky started for one year at North Carolina, Stewart could have been the guy to replace Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M.

If you want proof, just look at how they stack up in the 247Sports Composite Rating for 2013. Be warned that some of these names will make you cringe worse than Trubisky missing a wide-open receiver by 10 yards.

Kohl Stewart could have been better a college quarterback than Mitchell Trubisky

Stewart was the No. 15 overall quarterback in the 2013 recruiting class. The pro-style passer from Houston initially committed to Texas A&M before deciding to sign with the Twins as the No. 4 overall pick. Trubisky was a dual-threat playmaker from Mentor, Ohio. The No. 19 overall quarterback prospect went to UNC and outperformed so many of the guys ranked ahead of him.

To be taken inside of the top-five of a professional sports league’s draft is a massive deal. So with that in mind, it is safe to say that Stewart and the Trubisky made great personal decisions. Stewart toeing the rubber has brought him millions, while Trubisky committing to North Carolina allowed him to be selected ahead of better pro prospects like Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

As Stewart plays for the Cubs, we wonder if he could have starred in the SEC for the Aggies.
