Retired NFL quarterback jay Cutler has wild demands in his divorce proceedings with former wife Kristen Cavallari.

This, kids, is why you sign a prenup if necessary.

Cavallari and

Cutler

split in April of 2020, and are just now working through the legal proceedings of what had been a legal and amicable split. Suddenly, they appear to have hit a roadblock, with Cutler demanding half of Cavallari’s company, Uncommon James. Unsurprisingly, Cavallari is unwilling to give in to this demand.

Per TMZ, “Cutler’s insisting he should get a stake in UJ because Kristin launched it while they were married.”

That’s, uh, a bold claim. Not everything your significant other accomplishes while married should be evenly split, especially if that achievement is a damn company. Cavallari claims that Cutler didn’t put any of his own money into Uncommon James when it was merely a start-up.

NFL players and fans laugh at Jay Cutler’s divorce proceedings

Divorce is traumatic for all parties involved, especially children, so we hope Jay and Kristen’s three kids can grow up in happy homes.

For now, though, it’s okay to laugh off Cutler’s potentially ridiculous claim that he’s owed half of Cavallari’s brand.

The pair agreed to split custody of their kids, which is the most important thing here.

Despite all the struggles, a divorced couple is still a partnership of sorts when children are involved.

If Jay gets half the brand, though, that might be a tough break for Cavallari.
