The Trail Blazers managed to steal Game 1 in Denver before the Nuggets responded with two victories to reclaim home-court advantage. Portland came back with a Game 4 victory to even the series.

Game 5 was a fitting display of grit and flash as the Nuggets survived the Blazers in two overtimes. Jokic delivered 38 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks in a stellar performance. Meanwhile, Lillard’s 55-point explosion, including 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks, was universally praised, but it wasn’t enough for Portland.

Can Lillard produce another big outing to keep his team alive? Or will Jokic respond with his fifth 30-point game of the series to cancel out Lillard and send his team to the next round?

It may ultimately come down to whose supporting cast comes through. Jokic has Michael Porter Jr., Monte Morris, Austin Rivers and Aaron Gordon averaging double-digit scoring in the playoffs. CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, Jusuf Nurkic and Carmelo Anthony have managed the same.

The Blazers are five-point favorites with their do-or-die game coming on their home floor.
