New Yorkers savagely created a street memorial for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020-21 NBA season after being eliminated from the NBA Playoffs on Thursday night.

Though their bodies were still warm, extremely petty New Yorkers built a street memorial for LeBron James and the 2020-21 Los Angeles Lakers, who lost to the Phoenix Suns in Game 6.

Misery loves company, as the Lakers and the hometown New York Knicks combined to win three games in their best-of-seven series. There is just something about Manhattan going after All-Star players who are losing their hair. If you want to see New York celebrating the Lakers’ playoff exit almost as much as the Knicks’ Game 2 win, go to 152nd and Broadway in Hamilton Heights.

This spot is a perfect place to leave a scented candle, a bouquet of flowers or a haiku for LeBron.

New Yorkers were pure class in creating their LeBron James playoff memorial

For the first time in his life, James has fallen in a first-round playoff series. Outside of a year here and there, it is essentially a guarantee that whatever team James plays on gets to at least the conference semifinals. For a man who has played in nine conference finals, it is hard to imagine eight NBA teams are still playing for a championship, and he is not on one of them. What a shame!

Even though one of the borough’s teams is still very much alive in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, everybody knows New York is a Knicks town. While the star-studded Brooklyn Nets might win their first NBA Finals in franchise history, we will always look back on how glorious the James and Lakers street memorial truly was. We may never see something this petty ever again.

If you are in Manhattan, be sure to pay your respects to King James and his fallen Lakers team.
